Bealach nam Fiann and Ben Dreavie
June 14, 2025 @ 10:00 – 16:00
Join Geopark Education & Engagement Officer and Mountain Leader Jim on a guided walk to Bealach Nam Fiann and Ben Dreavie, featuring one of the sites on the Geopark’s Pilgrims Trail

An 11km mountain walk on good estate tracks and paths. Winding up from Loch More, Achfary, this walk will take us to one of our Pilgrims’ Trail locations, Bealach nam Fiann before cutting across a gentle ridge to the summit of Ben Dreavie. With good views of Loch More and Loch Stack, Ben Stack and Arkle for most of the climb, the views from Ben Dreavie are incredible. For such a small mountain, the rewards are great.
The walk is suitable for for all fit walkers. While there are steep sections, they are all on good surfaces. There are boggy sections on the ridge, so good boots or suitable walking footwear essential. Bring the usual: Waterproofs, lunch, a drink and a good sense of adventure!
The walk is led by Jim, one of our Education & Engagement Officers, who is a Mountain Leader, a member of the local Mountain Rescue, and at his happiest when given a reason to take people up a hill, look at the scenery and tell people why it matters.
The walk starts from Loch More. Parking is limited so car sharing is recommended. Parking is roadside at Grid Reference NC 30275 38562 (w3w ///vision.myth.winemaker).
The walk is free, but booking is essential as places are limited. Donations to the North West Highlands Geopark are very welcome!
The Pilgrim’s Trail project and this guided walk were made possible with funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, SSE Renewables Sustainable Development Fund, and Bòrd na Gàidhlig. A Geopark 20th Anniversary Event.
