The Pebble Route Collection

The Pebble Routes are the official self-guided trails for exploring the North West Highlands UNESCO Global Geopark. These 6 driving and cycling routes will help you explore the lesser travelled roads, small communities, and hidden treasures of the North West Highlands, and take you on a 3 billion year old journey through deep time.

Explore the communities of Coigach, Assynt, Scourie, Kinlochbervie, Durness and Tongue. 6 route leaflets contain beginner-friendly geological maps, information on the landscape, culture, history and geology, and imagery from local photographers and artwork. The Pebble Route collection provides all the tools you need to understand how this landscape was formed.
