Many people remember times when life felt in full flow. This novel follows a group of young people living in such a moment, in the mid-eighties. We see a shared fondness develop, but the feelings are tempered by a growing realisation that their futures lie in fundamentally different directions. Spread across four summers, the novel commences on the glaciers of the French Alps and evolves amongst the geologically ancient and spectacular scenery of the North West Highlands of Scotland.
Unconformity is John McLellan’s second novel. Unconformity is a standalone novel but readers of The Faultline (published 2022) will also be able to enjoy the continuity of both narrative and characters. You can purchase John’s first novel The Faultline here.
John McLellan graduated from Swansea University in the late seventies with an honours degree in Geology. John is now a writer living in Bristol and undertakes voluntary fieldwork in southern England and northern Scotland whenever he can.
