The North West Highlands Geopark has a varied and exciting geological history with some oldest rocks in Europe, fossil evidence of the earliest life, traces of Scotland’s oldest recorded meteorite strike and a landscape that enabled the early geologists to develop the theory of thrust faulting.
Over the course of a week you will travel the length of the Geopark visiting the areas of geological significance in the company of local geologist Pete Harrison who will provide expert guidance to help you interpret the landscape.
This year there are two tours planned for the following dates
27th April – 3rd May 2024
14th – 20th September 2024
